News New website launched amid COVID-19 pandemic Welcome to Gorse Covert Community Centre's new web site! This has been quite some time in the making and has been made possible by securing national charity funding from the Transform Foundation for developing technology in the charity sector. Their charity partner, Raising IT, is specifically aimed at developing online portals for charities in the UK and has worked with us to make this website happen. Our new website's initial contents has been created at a challenging time for us and our community. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the community centre being closed to the general public from March 2020 and all but the centre manager being furloughed. However, this time hasn't been wasted. Significant funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport has been secured to enable the centre to reopen safely and retain core staff. We have kept communications open with our local communities via social media and ensured people know we are and will be here for them still, going forward. We thanked our volunteers during Volunteers' Week, via social media while the centre was closed Over the coming months we are aiming to carefully and thoughtfully reopen the facility, making adjustments as necessary and ensuring that our regular and new users are involved as much as possible in our plans and aspirations for their community centre. We look forward to seeing you soon and do get in touch with any ideas, questions, or just to find out more about what we offer to our local people.
