Valery Watts - chairperson Valery Watts Position Trustee & Chairperson Date started April 2013 Contact [email protected] A little about Val's Background I have been familiar with the work of Gorse Covert Community Association since the centre opened in 1981 and worked in partnership with centre staff once I became a community tutor at Burleigh Community College in 1986. I became a trustee in 2013 just prior to my retirement as a manager with Leicestershire Adult Learning Service (by that time based at The Moira Centre in Loughborough). I have a lot of experience in community development and adult learning in the area. I have been a trustee for a project in Bangladesh and a supporter of another for many years and visited both projects. This has involved substantial fundraising. I have also been a school governor and local councillor. I feel I am able to bring the skills, experience and knowledge gained through my working life and volunteering to support The Community Association and the local community.
